LOTTT: Goodnight, Travel Well – The Killers

It isn’t Tuesday. It doesn’t matter.

The unknown distance to the great beyond
Stares back at my grieving frame
To cast my shadow by the holy sun
My spirit moans with a sacred pain.

  1. I actually had never heard of this band before. I actually like them. I actually hope things are well with you. Actually.

    • I’m so glad you like them! I’m quite surprised you haven’t heard of them before, they’re actually rather well known in the UK. Actually.

I’m alright*. I was really warmed to see you’d posted a comment. How are you?

*in the abyss of existence, slumping emotionally and eating a lot of cake.

    • I don’t get out much, and never listen to the radio, and the music at work is only the lamest of modern music. So I’m never exposed to anything with drive or any dark music, unless someone includes it in a blog, or unless something I’ve looked up on YT leads me to it.
I’m alright, too*. Cake is good. Or cookies.
*In the abyss, also, sustained only by books, weed, whiskey, and old Basil Rathbone/Nigel Bruce Sherlock Holmes movies (and others of that era).
I always like hearing from you, Anna. “Hang in there” is so trite, so I’ll just say “Keep on truckin’.” Or, “The world needs you.”

  2. I’m so dumb. Of course I’ve heard “Are we human or are we dancer?”, but I didn’t know who did the song. Oh, by the way, by “weed” I mean that I’d like to visit Colorado, where it’s legal, someday, just to, um, walk though a store. I would never do anything illegal of course. I’ve never even exceeded the speed limit, as far as you know. Well, I hope to read you again sometime soon, my friend.

    • If you like the sound of their darker stuff, you might like to listen to songs like ‘Jenny Was a Friend of Mine’ or ‘Smile Like You Mean It’ from their first album.

And no, of course I would never suspect you of any illegal wrongdoings. It’s not like I’ve seen the body parts in your freezer or anything, right? Right.
